A family on holiday in Spain

Sun Seeking In Spain

Spain is a country renowned for its great food, beautiful islands and enchanting culture, and with it only being an hour or two away from home, it’s a destination many of us have grown to love. To help you plan your next holiday to sunny Spain, we’ve listed some of the best parts of the country that are sure to get you inspired. From the family friendly island of Fuerteventura, to the romantic beaches of Menorca, you’re bound to find a villa holiday to Spain that suits you.

Sun it up in Ibiza with friends

For a holiday with your friends that’s full of fun, beaches and sunshine, Ibiza has to be one of the best places to go. For some quality time together, head over to Platges de Comte, a beautiful beach with golden sand, crystal clear water and picturesque views of the ocean and islands ahead.

If you want to have fun, try out one of the exciting activities the island has to offer. Whether you fancy joining in with a horse riding trail through Ibiza’s rocky terrain, or windsurfing in the warm sea, you’re bound to find something the whole group loves.

After you’ve enjoyed a friendly barbecue and freshened up at your villa, make sure you take advantage of Ibiza’s infamous night life. From just enjoying a cocktail or two at one of the local bars, to dancing the night away at one of the nightclubs, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Enjoy a couple’s retreat in Menorca

When it comes to Menorca, the best beaches are often those that have been left untouched, a type of beach that the locals often refer to as calas virgenes, or virgin beaches. A perfect example would be Es Talaier, a secluded beach with bright blue, clear water and glittering white sand that makes for the perfect romantic hideaway. After topping up your tan, hike through the forested paths and hills that surround the beach, where you’ll be rewarded with incredible views of the island and sea.

For a romantic evening together, head to Fornells’ harbour and discover some of the brilliant seafood restaurants scattered along the front. Boasting waterside views of the sun setting, combined with delicious food, making the perfect place for a little romance.

Journey to Costa Cálida

The Costa Cálida, or the Warm Coast, is a relatively undiscovered area of Spain that’s located in the Murcia region of the country. For a relaxing day out, make your way over to the small fishing village of Isla Plana. There, you can enjoy relaxing strolls along the beach, or gentle hikes through and beyond the village’s mountainous countryside.

For a taste of Costa Cálida’s culture, pop by Puerto de Mazarrón’s Old Town. Take in the architectural beauty of the Puerto de Mazarrón’s town hall, a cream-coloured building that features a rusty-red centre and a striking clock, which is situated at the top. After exploring the town hall, be sure to take the time to visit the Old Town’s indoor market, which sells a range of locally sourced fruit and veg, as well as trinkets and souvenirs made by local artisans that your family and friends back home will love.

Have family fun in Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura offers a variety of fun family days out including a theme park, water parks, outdoor activities and even a zoo.  If you’re feeling adventurous, you could join a camel safari or even try out some of the watersports that the island is famous for.

When you’re not enjoying days out at the zoo and exploring the rest of the island, make sure you take advantage of your villa’s private pool, where you can play water polo or a game of sharks and minnows. Alternatively, head over to the local beach, where you can while away the day building sandcastles and snorkelling in the sea. And, after a day of family fun, you can look forward to a delicious barbecue in your villa’s garden.
